The name Haikasoru is a kind of Japanified version of ‘high castle.’ It’s a veiled homage to Philip K. Dick’s Man in the High Castle which is set in an alternate world where Japan colonizes the west coast of the U.S. It’s pretty traditional science fiction. We’ll see where it goes in terms of the breadth. It’s solidly a fiction line and we’ve got the buyers onboard for it. It’s pretty exciting to see what come out.” While I’m still mourning the death of Shakugan no Shana line, it’s good to see Viz not giving up on bringing japanese literature to english audience

-world isn’t all sunshine and flowers though, so All Seven Seas Light Novels are on hold.Yep..fans of Zero no Tsukaima, Vamp, Boogiepop Phantom, Kanokon, Ballad of Shinigami, Gun Princess and Pita Ten can start crying now (since I enjoyed Kanokon anime greatly I will be joining your weeping)

So far Kanokon has shown us so much (including spanking raw and foot jobs) than the question remained: how much further can they push? I mean this is supposedly aimed at kids (although I don’t think anyone buys that any more), it does air in morning slot(yes, it’s a morning cartoon ). The next obvious step is frontal nudity. Oh, sure, Kankon already did that to some degree, hardly doing any of the  typical “steam/light beam/random furniture shapes” tricks that other anime use when obscuring the details, XEBEC instead just didn’t draw them. This time they’ve found another way, they decided to show Chizuru’s ermm… “assets”. So what our beloved wackos at XEBEC did?

Because of “dramatic” events in previous episode Chizuru wasn’t able to meet her weekly quota in molesting Kouta. What better moment to catch up than New Year?

Yep, this episode has insane amount of fanservice, enough to make up for good three of four drama episodes (let alone for single half-drama one, because at best that’s what episode 5 was )

So we do get a lot of it and all in typical Kanokon high quality and hilarity. Trying to put it into pure words would be too hard, so the use of visual aid is necessity today!

Here comes the drama!

We knew it was coming, we feared the inevitable and now it’s here. Japanese writers seem to have obsession with drama. I mean… heck, even most hentai anime try to have plot (why? Beats me), so for every fun ecchi show comes a moment when the true plot starts. Most of the time the moment it starts the fun ends. So how did Kanokon fare?

This episode starts on the school’s rooftop. If there’s something we’ve learned from all the anime we’ve seen in our lives is that there are only three things japanese students use rooftops for:
-to have sex
-to commit suicide
-to destroy it in an epic battle
