So I watched White Album up to episode 4, but I’ve got nothing to say about it so I’m just gonna let Montaigne take over. This 16th century humanist philosopher.
If you like Nietzsche, you’ll find a lot to like here. In fact, many of Nietzsche’s aphorisms are direct reactions to some of these.
Tell me if there are particular ones that strike your fancy.

As you may have noticed, Browning’s book made another appearance in episode 2. In the first episode, the book represented in some sense Misaki’s interest in Touya. Touya didn’t have interest in the book (Misaki’s feelings by extension) and tried to pass it on to Akira, who refused it, even though he had interest in the literary content of it. What Akira refused is to simply inherit Misaki’s attention from Touya, he wanted Misaki to romantically discover his person by natural progression/personal wooing efforts. He has too much pride, he …

I’ll do my best to accurately present this blogger. Sergio is a linguistics student in Spain. He has developed a distaste for the popular culture of his country and thus turned outwards to the rest of the world to find something meaningful. Among the discoveries he made, Japanese culture caught his interest. His website blogs his way into his quest to learn Japanese, his various interpretations of different cultural elements in Japan. That is only information …

What a pathetic theory. The only comparisons applicable are so general that they could be likened to any sort of strategy game. “fast and agile” lmao.
Yeah, I just wanted to make fun of that 00 Gundam theory. I’m constructive like that.

You know, Mr. reader, things that are serious and don’t promise any money are hardly marketable. Considering that, the most moral action I could take would be to leverage my power of attention and point it towards the dark corners of the internet. Where people write thoughts that could touch the core of your soul, that could leave you disparaged for days. These thoughts hold some of the greatest value that can be found in this world of our experience.

I watched Tytania episode 7 (I think) and that zheng-long guy I think he’s named. They were all like “OMG, he has a doctorate in Philosophy!” That felt really odd to me. First, he talked in entirely unphilosophical terms, second, the Philosophy PhD is usually looked down upon in general society. It’s even more odd coming from a band of pirates.
I wouldn’t mind living in a world where a Philosophy doctorate meant you were considered wise or even remotely useful and worth listening to. Being a philosophy student and all. …

I’m in the middle of my work on Japanese History within that very period, it’s amazing what I’m learning even though I consider my general education to be generously wide. In short, that time-span is the modernization and westernization of Japan. Japan as we know it is only 130-some years old. As close from now as 1867, the Tokugawa Shogunate was ruling Japan. That’s right, we’re talking Samurais and Shoguns here, it was a feudal military dictatorship. Guys like these:

Earlier this week, Taro Aso has been making waves within the otaku circles. The reason for that is simple, and as you may already know, Mr. Aso is a self-proclaimed Manga fanatic.

By all accounts, this place has cooled down since September. As you might have guessed, it was the back-to-school period for me. I’ve taken a prolonged break from education this past year but I’m back at full speed in my academical pursuits.
With these new elements populating my “Schedule” (An alien concept to me) I’ve had mixed success juggling it all together. The bus pass, the books, the clothes, the studying and the reading, they kept me away from you guys and my keyboard. That’s not to say there weren’t positive …
