[The Serious Blogger Project, Turn 1] Introduction and explanation of my passion.
You know, Mr. reader, things that are serious and don’t promise any money are hardly marketable. Considering that, the most moral action I could take would be to leverage my power of attention and point it towards the dark corners of the internet. Where people write thoughts that could touch the core of your soul, that could leave you disparaged for days. These thoughts hold some of the greatest value that can be found in this world of our experience.
I have made it a project to bring to light these objects of value, objects of rarity. It it in my belief that philosophical and generally intellectual enterprises should not be simply relegated to monolithic and highly-exclusive academies. We, the common people, ought to develop wisdom and practice it as we gain it.
Enough ideology, here comes practice. The Serious Blogger Project aims to publish and discuss serious thoughts relating to Japanophile culture. Even more practical, so to appeal to your most basic of senses, send me serious stuff so I can talk about them here and give them due attention. I doesn’t matter if you wrote it, if it’s never been published anywhere else, if you’ve never wrote anything before. If it’s serious, I’ll talk about it. I want a lot of stuff and I want you to talk to everyone you know about it. Things of that nature never propagate without due effort.
I am perfectly conscious that I will probably feature Bloggers who are even more successful than I am (Can you even conceive of such a thing?) That is besides the point. Sartre was a very serious man and millions witnessed his funerals (on tv) was he any less serious by this fact? I believe not. Successful bloggers that are serious, I love you.
Now, if my words resonate in your spirit, please point me towards a serious blogger or a post of you choice in the comments, I will repay you in song and good wine. I also welcome you who has no blog of his own, I will gladly publish anything that comes my way. What you call desperation, I call passion. I’m not gonna sit on my ass and wait though, I’ll be looking with you all. I have a small list of my own and I’ve contacted a few.
I’ll be giving you all a more concrete realization of this project real soon in my next post.
