Hyakko- episode 01

the long walk.
OP
ED
Neither OP nor ED themes did much for me, although they are pretty…hmm.. wild I guess. They’re like something you would hear in brutal samurai show, not in a slice of life one
The first episode was about girls getting lost in the school and looking for their classroom (it’s a huge school)…
they walked…
and walked…
Not much more happened in the first episode and yet it was pure blast to watch. Let’s start from characters.
Nanomura Ayumi
The shy girl. Her inner reactions and monologues are priceless.
Iizuka Tatsuki
The calm well-behaved girl, or so she seems at first
, she still got lost despite attending this school for years
Saotome Suzume
The quiet one with enough strength to rip the handle off the door
and the star
Kageyama Torako
absolutely hilarious girl
Who jumped out of the window…
and landed with so much grace…
or notÂ
Why the hell did she jump?
They were getting confused everytime they changed floors by stairs
The bright idea: jump out of window, so you don’t change direction like on stairs
Yeah, Iizuka’s reaction was spot-on
Torako’s whole plan of “just going straight ahead” was so ridiculous you can’t help but to immediately like this character.
when encountering closed window
use the brick
if somebody sees you…
get rid of the eye witness
Yeah, Torako definitely rocks, she’s funny and wild without falling into tsunadere stereotype.
The visuals were very nice and detailed (even the far away scenes, which doesn’t happen too often nowadays) and I’m glad that they’ve kept the unique style from the manga pretty much intact.
Overall this was a very good start for the series and one that made me laugh more than any other anime post Kanokon
rating: 8.5/10
Are you by any chances lost too?
What a great teacher !!!

Torako sure is awesome but the episode didn’t do much for me.
Ayumi is part of the problem methinks.
The OP song is very catchy.
