Code Geass R2 22 … and this episode brings us back to shitville.
In this episode 22, we get to see how the final developments of Code Geass R2 will play out. As you might have noticed, I thought the developments in question were very much south of elegantly presented.
The horror! How did we manage to start talking about conflict of classes and diplomatic relationships, only to be left to rot with resurrecting characters and giant flying fortresses armed with nukes?
Ugh, Code Geass never ceasses to betray me. Every time I force myself to take it seriously (last episode), it humbles itself to new highs of preposterousness.
There were many things that weren’t quite right in this episode, even aside from resurrections and nuke towers. The scene with “All Hail Lelouch!” was awkward and unnecessary to repeat considering we saw the same thing at the end of last episode. The new outfits for Lelouch and Suzaku, they’re hilariously hideous. Reminds me of the horrible costumes at the end of Gurren-Lagann (especially Yoko’s, ewww.). Now there’s the thing with Bismarck’s Geass-eye, turns out it didn’t manage to do anything and that the mighty Knight of One died before doing anything meaningful in the series. Last but not least, the scenes with Kallen and Lelouch: Lelouch is being an asshole for some reason and snobs Kallen, all that while she turns around and kisses him. It was so darn awkward. What was he thinking?
Yeah, episode 22 left a sour taste in my mouth. Next episode we’ll see how this nonsense turns out. You know, the thing with evil-zombie Nunnally and the nuking castle of doom. (I can’t believe this)

Also, the 1 minute mecha battle and the new knight of rounds who lasted about 20 seconds.
I’m still hoping. Still hoping.
Michaels last blog post..[Code Geass R2 - 22] Evaluating the kiss
I find it interesting that the show has started to fall apart the moment I’ve stopped blogging it and JP took over..hmm …JP… it’s ALL YOUR FAULT YOU DAMN CANADIAN BRAT!!!
Silly pole, correlation does not imply causation.
Just watch, Nunally has always had a geass and used it to escape.
The fortress is laughable in design, but the nukes were already there and someone has to actually die before they can be resurrected.
I never bought Nunnally being dead to begin with and it’s not even necessary to give her a Geass for her to survive.
“The scene with “All Hail Lelouch!” was awkward and unnecessary to repeat considering we saw the same thing at the end of last episode.”
Those guys who were geassed ended up being the same ones used to carry out Lelouch’s plan later in the episode, so I didn’t find it that bothersome or repetitive. I actually liked that bit.
“The new outfits for Lelouch and Suzaku, they’re hilariously hideous.”
Guess so. Next.
“Now there’s the thing with Bismarck’s Geass-eye, turns out it didn’t manage to do anything and that the mighty Knight of One died before doing anything meaningful in the series.”
It was all a bit short, but it was a pretty neat power while it lasted.
“Last but not least, the scenes with Kallen and Lelouch: Lelouch is being an asshole for some reason and snobs Kallen, all that while she turns around and kisses him. It was so god-damn awkward. WTF was he thinking?”
Don’t you see he has “WORLD REDEMPTION THROUGH SELF-SACRIFICE BY BEING A GLOBAL TROLL” spelled all over his face? Once you get that, it all becomes mostly clear. Sadly for Kallen though.
“Yeah, episode 22 left a sour taste in my mouth. Next episode we’ll see how this nonsense turns out. You know, the thing with evil-zombie Nunnally and the nuking castle of doom.
Other than the goofy fortress and gaudy outfits…I didn’t really mind what was actually happening, to be honest. Must be the air around here or something.
“WORLD REDEMPTION THROUGH SELF-SACRIFICE BY BEING A GLOBAL TROLL”
lmao, I can’t make any sense out of that.
But my theory is that this isn’t Nunnally we’re looking at. She looks nothing like her, speaks nothing like her and had no reason to stay under the radar for so long.
