The world tour of THE ZERO BAND begins!

The Black Knights seem to be settling in nicely in China. They are getting Knightmares from India, which sees a chance for their own independence in Zero.

Things are so quiet that they even find some time for playing up Kallen/Lulu romantic angle

Unfortunately the peaceful days don’t last long. China is corrupt and decadent and the eunuchs are using the poor royal loli as a puppet. They’re willing to sell her and Zero just to get status of royalty from Britain. Damn, no wonder Charles is doing so good! EU is weak, China is rotting from inside, Britannia is basically the only superpower in Geass’ world with strong leader. Of course Zero plans to change that But it seems like he might finally be getting some competition from his brother: Schneizel.

So far Lulu has been pretty much unsurpassed intellect-wise in the series and while I doubt Schneizel will be able to beat Zero’s wits, it’s good to see somebody challenging Zero on his own turf. He did screw Zero’s plans of taking control of China nicely. And while he lost in Chess, he did gain valuable intel on Zero, which leads me to believe he doesn’t know Zero’s identity, which in turn might be an interesting development later on. It is disturbing however to see that Zero still is incapable of controlling his emotions fully when confronted with his family. He did let his pride and hate get the best of him there.

Nina had a small part in this episode.

And as always she sucks, now she even became a bitch and trashed the poor Milly. This was heartless. I mean… how can anyone be so mean to a girl that looks like this:

If only the poor guy wouldn’t have mecha fetish!

Empress Tianzi is jus too cute for words.

I liked her little back story with Li Xingke. It’s mushy as hell, but in the way that makes you smile and go all “awwww”. No wonder that Xingke decided to rebel against Eunuchs, he and others planned to do it anyway, just later, but without the Empress on their side their chances for success would be greatly reduced. Of course Zero crashes both Britannians and Xinge’s plans…

and kidnaps the poor loli.

Wow, did he piss off Xingke or what? I’m surprised how short the Black Knights presence in China lasted. I think they will escape in India and from there attempt to first make India independent, then take over China and finally challenge the Britain Empire. Despite all the mess Zero will propably convince the empress to join him, especially with Kaguya’s help. One way or another, the future looks to be epic.

I am surprised though that it looks like Rollo was left in Japan, although I guess it makes sense to still be able to use him to infiltrate British forces this way.

Oh..and lol…

Orange-kun is back and with VV help he’s getting upgraded.

Overall another good episode, not much action, but a lot of nice set-up for further development. I’m really happy that the show has finally left the Area11 and began to explore more of the ultra cool Geass alternative history setting.
