Japanophile Isle

About us.

Where we come from:

We’re mostly internet buddies. We usually hang out at J-isle.com, systemwars.com or Animeamaze.net. Some gaming and anime websites.

Who we are:

jp_zer0: (founder, chief editor, writer) I’m about taking anime seriously as an art form, a vehicle for philosophy and social commentary. Most anime blogs are rather pedestrian or “funny” while I try to bring some artistic recognition to the whole scene. I also talk about what goes on in Japan from time to time.

AdrianWerner: (co-founder, writer) The man. Really, does everything, hard worker, very friendly. Wouldn’t hurt a fly.

DanoruX: (Writer, Hosting provider) Let us borrow the name. Gives good advice. Runs the j-isle.com forums.

roseofmay: (writer) Our resident conservative, he’s got the heart at the right place. He won’t take all the place out there but he’s always worth listening to.

Just a quick recommendation to Adrian seeing as he liked the hard SF of Moonlight Mile, Planetes is also very good if you haven’t tried it, it’s my personal fave.
