Japanophile Isle opens its new blogroll, accepts suggestions.
I’ve been thinking about who to include in this Blogroll and I couldn’t find anyone for a while but now I’m confident in my choice.
Anime|Otaku is my single and only choice. Why? Because he has something to offer beyond being an anime watcher. In his own words: “incisive and intellectual disquisitions on anime” While that isn’t everything, he has a vast repertoire of insights that he shares and ties into his anime blogging. His comparisons of anime with various literature are particularly delicious and leave a lot of room for discussion.
Another thing that is important to me: He takes himself seriously. Yes, I’m talking to you bloggers of this world, your clever uses of photoshop may be funny but nothing beats a post which requires the thinking cap. Hope you’re taking notes, blogger. You know who you are.
So, anybody have a suggestion for a quality blog I could insert in my blogroll? I won’t hold you to the same standards so don’t be afraid to shoot.
(BTW, I would have added http://yukan.dasaku.net/ to the roll but Blissmo doesn’t care about anime anymore and the blog hasn’t been updated since Jesus died.)

I would recommend my blog, but you’ve got a pic of Nagato in this post, so I can only come to the conclusion that you’re a slut—I don’t want to get AIDS from your blogroll.
I was going to ask you what’s wrong with Nagato but then I saw that your website has about 50 billion Tsuruyas in the background. Point taken, ’nuff said.
No offensive to the guys at Anime Banzai, but how do you choose Anime Banzai over The Animanachronism or Lelangiric?
And Mike (Anime|Otaku) is a douchebag, so I hate you now for adding him to your blogroll =] *ignores the fact that anime|otaku is on my own blogroll*
I didn’t think about it all that long, I just revisited Mike’s blog after I lost it for a few months.
But I’ll take a look at them Animanachronism and Lelangiric. I remember visiting your site before though, you got a redesign not too long ago right? I don’t remember that layout.
(BTW, now that you mention it, all that I managed to get out of mike was “I appreciate the praise.” Like that, dry as can be)

It seems like my comment was eaten. I wanted to say that I am more than happy in gracing your blogroll, and I am very appreciative and grateful as well. To compensate for my seemingly lukewarm response, I added you to my blogroll as well. There have only been few people who have appreciated what and how I’ve written my articles, and you have been one of those few. I’m really grateful!
I won’t say anything anymore as regards IcyStorm, because his hate towards me has irrationality at its core. He just became pissed off when I mentioned his sexual affection for the bovine species and his love of transvestism. If you asked me, I think being a crossdressing cowf*cker is weird. Isn’t it?
Lolikitsune actually likes Haruhi Suzumiya. He’s just tsundere for it, and he was showing you his tsuntsun side. He actually likes Nagato, too, but hates on her because she’s popular.

I really do appreciate the praise: such a fervid response has come few and far between in my years of blogging. Please, don’t mistake that as me being ungrateful: I think I was in a rush at that moment and forgot all about it.
