Early season roundup.
As I’m still unsure what anime to blog in detail, I decided to briefly round up what I’ve checked out so far.
- Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~ (8/10)
- Slayers Revolution (7.5/10)
- Strike Witches (7.5/10)
- Sekirei (6/10)
- Chocolate Factory (6/10)
- Telepathy Shoujo Ran (5.5/10)
At first glance, you can see I’m not crazy about anything so far. In the first two seasons you might remember that I went completely ga-ga for True Tears and Kure-nai. They brought out some interesting emotions out of me, to say the least. Not to say I didn’t like Code Geass but everyone and their dog likes Code Geass, I mean, how can’t you? It’s impossible not to like it.
This season, Mahou Shoujo is in vogue, I could argue that only show that makes exception to that is Chocolate Underground so kudos to them. Chocolate underground is no less silly than the other ones though, make no mistake about it. If the chocolate extermination task force didn’t raise any silliness flags, you’re probably having dinner with Uncle Ben and Mr.Clean on a daily basis.
Most promising so far is Someday’s dreamers (aka Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~) It brought down the house with the spectacular 3d/live action/painted backgrounds. I had read before that to the Japanese, in art, the backgrounds hold a particular importance. Now, I’m 100% fucking certain of it. That’s not all I like about it though, the slow pace, the temperance in the use of magic, it really struck my fancy.
Now to tackle Sekirei and Strike Witches, both will be the big fanservice shows of the season. I’m putting my money on Strike Witches though, the whole thing is amazing. The girls don’t wear pants! At all! Let’s face it, pants are always corrosive to good fanservice. Thus, they decided to do away with them in the first place. Genius! Also, the plot isn’t that bad either, I actually do want to see what’s up with the father dude in Britannia (didn’t we hear about this place before?)
For Slayers Revolution, I thought it was really fun. Good jokes, Lina Inverse’s cute voice, some crazy action. It was simply good fun. I heard my friend DanoruX wanted to review it, I won’t go in too much detail so look forward to his stuff.

Is there any show I missed that I should watch?
“Is there any show I missed that I should watch?”
Birdy the mighty?
Also, I’m not sure whether it’s your kind of show, but Ultraviolet seems to have potential as well.
thanks a bunch psgels, I’ll also check out “Yakushiju Ryouko no Kaiki Jikenbo”
I’ll post an update when I gather another bunch.
Besides “Someday’s Dreamers” The only thing that interests me is Natsume Yuujinchou.
