Code Geass R2 - 14
Destroy all Geass? Following that scene, Lelouch will spend the greater part of 15 minutes trying to get it done.
Last week, the duty (and pleasure) of covering Code Geass fell unto me. This poses a problem. For as long as I can remember, my alias on the web has been jp_zer0. Bearing that in mind, can you imagine the oddity of typing “Zero” like so, without even referring to myself? For that reason, I will always refer to him as Lelouch.
Back to Code Geass! Let’s break down what happened:
-
Lelouch failed to attend Shirley’s funeral
What was he thinking? I don’t know, but Suzaku took note and now he suspects Lelouch for the crime. Furthermore, Suzaku is planning something weird with Kallen. He showed up with an attitude and some drugs. Leaves a lot to the imagination.
-
Lelouch orders C.C. to gather her stuff and attack the Order.
He’s had enough of the Geass and Rolo, of course, that doesn’t include his own power. Even though he killed Euphy.
-
Ohgi is suspected of hiding something.
Nananko is asked to shadow Ohgi. Nanako knows that Viletta is a double agent so I don’t what’s going on here.
-
Britannia continues to gather support in the Chinese Empire’s territory
Lelouch quells Saudi Arabia, gains support of Italy and Poland (adrian will be happy! )
-
Rolo continues to kill valuable people on a whim.
Damn him. Lelouch even tries to kill him on several occasions, such a shame he missed the opportunity.
-
V.V. Exits in a Knightframe and tries to buy some time for the Order’s exit
He’s defeated by Cornelia, C.C. finds the backup data for the experiments, spells the end of the Order I think.
-
Lelouch is transported to Charles before taking care of V.V.
This part breaks off before anything happens. Lelouch might be in big trouble.
A lot has happened in this episode. In typical R2 fashion, the main action was complimented by perpherical information and sub-plots. Most of it wasn’t explored for more than a minute. We still don’t know what’s up with Ohgi or Kallen. Nor did C.C. reveal her wish. It’s almost frustrating.
What serves in consolation is that we found out that Lelouch mom’s is a total hottie and that Kallen’s new outfit is tits. Sunrise is so shameless.
All in all, Code Geass still pushes the envelope in terms of pacing and stuffs so much action within their 20 minutes. I could complain about little details but it never leaves us any time to get bored so it’d be a foolish venture on my part. Let’s just say that it was a great episode and that I’m really looking forward to the next one.
