No commentsMan punches woman on train. Twice!
A cranky computer programmer on the way to work in Shinkiya was told to stop playing cell phone games by a 50-year old woman at 8am. Being one of the less self-controlled people among us humans he ended up punching the woman, after which he was restrained by fellow passengers. The punchline here is that the woman got whacked again after being escorted off the train!

Suicide in Japan is a sign of diligent citizens.
I bet you can think of a few people on this side of the pond who could use some Japanese diligence. Don’t hide it. ![]()
What do you think?
Experiencing technical difficulties.
I will get back to business once speed/stability/uptime gets sorted out.
The server has been slowly deteriorating on us. My apologies to the readers and everyone with whom I had any arrangements.
In the mean time, if you would like a contributing/relief/guest author (me!) at your own blog, send me a holler at jp.theworst(@)gmail.com I’d be glad to get some ink flowing for you.
No comments[The Serious Blogger Project: Turn 3] Low on HP blog lands a critical hit on the anime blogosphere.
I don’t know this guy to be honest, however this post on White Album makes me guarantee he’s worthy of the SBP.

If you get in touch with me, I’ll do a proper SBP entry for ya, anytime.
2 commentsA small taste of wisdom. v1, Michel de Montaigne quotes.
So I watched White Album up to episode 4, but I’ve got nothing to say about it so I’m just gonna let Montaigne take over. This 16th century humanist philosopher.
If you like Nietzsche, you’ll find a lot to like here. In fact, many of Nietzsche’s aphorisms are direct reactions to some of these.
Tell me if there are particular ones that strike your fancy.
1 commentChrome Shelled Regios, Mundo TV and Rideback. What do they have in common?
They’re bad. That’s the main reason why there hasn’t been an update here in a while. I’ve got some other things to talk about though, such as Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou.
5 commentsFinal Fantasy XIII US Release Date: After April 2010
We already knew that Final Fantasy XIII was hitting Japanese shores sometime in 2009. Today Square-Enix has apparently told business news site Reuters, that Final Fantasy XIII will be released outside of Japan during the 2010 financial year which starts in April 2010.
Some of you may be disappointed but this really is the best we could expect. If Square-Enix is trying to push the game out in Japan by late 2009, localisation and the Xbox 360 port will take some months to complete. A release date for Final Fantasy Versus XIII or Final Fantasy Agito XIII hasn’t been mentioned.

So then, Oct/Nov 2010 in the US? While Japan gets it by the end of this year?
Glad I’ve been taking Japanese lessons.
1 commentWhite Album episode 02, what does the poetry book represent? An attempt at deciphering the metaphorical subtext.
As you may have noticed, Browning’s book made another appearance in episode 2. In the first episode, the book represented in some sense Misaki’s interest in Touya. Touya didn’t have interest in the book (Misaki’s feelings by extension) and tried to pass it on to Akira, who refused it, even though he had interest in the literary content of it. What Akira refused is to simply inherit Misaki’s attention from Touya, he wanted Misaki to romantically discover his person by natural progression/personal wooing efforts. He has too much pride, he wants something genuine.
No comments[Serious Blogger Project, turn 2.1] Sergio’s dedicated aniblog.
Back in turn 2.0, we covered our project’s darling blogger sergio and his varied blog. One thing led to another and he’s now found a new home at tenshi.tomatone.net, where he’ll concentrate on anime for us lucky folks.
I’d describe sergio’s blog as a blogger’s blogger’s blog. I say this because the owners of some blogger’s blogs have shown great affection to it. Now I need to define what a blogger’s blog is. Well, a blogger’s blog is a blog where the posts are often interaction between bloggers and follow upon each others’ ideas and require some knowledge of its culture to understand. Some say Beethoven was a composer’s composer, well sergio is a step further. (but doesn’t retain the distinctive traits of a blogger’s blog)
Anyhow, this odd tangeant aside, I wish good luck and success to tenshi.tomatone.net !
